I need to connect to a redshift database and when I open the Database Connection Manager dialogue box and click on 'Add' I am not able to see the redshift option on the dropdown menu for database type. I would much appreciate if anyone could please help and let me know how to connect to the redshift database.

Hi sidramesh,

you can add any new database type using 'Preferences...' option from the 'SQLPower Architect' Menu.

1st you must download the required jdbc for your database. In your case if you are trying for Amazon Redshift

Required File(s)
RedshiftJDBC41.jar

Default Driver Class
com.amazon.redshift.jdbc41.Driver

JDBC URL Format
jdbc:redshift://<server>:<port5439>/<database>


See the attached screenshot on how to add new database using 'User Preferences > 'Local JDBC Drivers' Tab.

Once you add the database to the 'Local JDBC Drivers' list it will be available in 'New database connection list.
