Hi,

Im trying to compare 2 data models and generate the difference in the models as a SQL script.

I choose:
- 'Compare Older' as my file for my old data model
- 'With newer' as my current project

But it looks like i cant choose the option 'SQL for...' for 'Output format' because the 'Start' button is not 'active' when i do so.

I can only choose 'English description'.

Is it possible to generate the sql script for this type of data model comparison? Would you make it possible in future releases?

If i compare my current data model to my actualy database, it takes too long.

Thanks!

You make an excellent point.

We will relax that restriction and allow creation of a SQL script even when the "older" schema comes from the play pen or another Architect project.

This is now fixed: you can produce an upgrade script whether or not the older schema is a physical database. The new behaviour is already available in the trunk, and it will be rolled into 0.9.12-rc2, which is coming soon.
